Coconut Grove

The city of Coconut Grove, a tree lined community that oozes history and charm along one of the most beautiful sailing bays, is home to approximately 21,292 residents over a five and a half acre area and is centrally located just minutes from Miami International Airport, Brickell, Downtown Miami,  City of Coral Gables and Key Biscayne.

“The Grove,” as it is known to locals, attracts residents by its relaxed tropical lifestyle, from musicians, artists and writers to professors, doctors and engineers.  The real estate market in 2022 is sizzling hot with the average sale price for single family homes at $2,618,952.  Coconut Grove is also extremely popular for its townhouse and condo communities which are highly walkable to all the great restaurants and shopping. And the variety of architectural styles make this community quite eye appealing and unique. You’ll see Moroccan, Mediterranean, contemporary and modern style homes interspersed with charming cottages.  The streets are laden with dense canopied trees, shading quaint and modest single-family homes that are right next door to expansive walled and gated residences.

Academically, there are four public schools that serve this area,  Coconut Grove Elementary School, Ponce de Leon Middle School, Washington Carver Middle School (a magnate school), and Coral Gables Senior High School, along with several excellent faith- based preparatory schools.  Located in the North Grove is Ransom Everglades, one of the finest private schools in South Florida.

Nestled in the heart of The Grove are The Barnacle Historic State Park, the oldest residence along Biscayne Bay, dating back to 1891,  The Kampong-National Tropical  Botanical Garden and Cocowalk, a shopping complex with a selection of great restaurants, chain and boutique stores, art galleries and a movie theater.  The business district of Coconut Grove is a fabulous place for a leisurely stroll to people watch and shop or to dine in open air cafes along the promenade.  Other area attractions are Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, a ten acre, 70 room Italian Renaissance estate and garden built in 1918, Dinner Key Marina, several waterfront bars and restaurants and fourteen parks.
