Just Sold – Great Palmetto Bay Home

Debra Wellins   I had the pleasure of selling a terrific 4 bedroom, 2 bath Palmetto Bay home to a wonderful family I met through our dog Chili.  Chili picked up Willy in front of our house in Pinecrest one day as he and his mom were cruising down the street.  It was the start of a great love affair and friendship. But back to the house sale...  Palmetto Bay is one of the best neighborhoods to raise a family. Many of the homes... Continue Reading >

Ayesha – Saffron Fine Dining from India

Debra Wellins Ayesha is one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants in Palmetto Bay for great food and superb service.  Our waiter not only knows us, but remembers what we have ordered in the past - and I mean everything.  He makes suggestions on dishes we may like to try instead of our standard choices.  And, his recommendations are excellent and appreciated. Last night we had some of our regulars and a few surprises.  As with most Indian restaurants, Papadum with Tomato Chutney is served complimentary.... Continue Reading >

Fire Protection Crisis in East Pinecrest and Palmetto Bay

Debra Wellins Residents along the Eastern boundary of Pinecrest and Palmetto Bay have no fire station to protect their homes and families.   There are two fire stations that serve Pinecrest and Palmetto Bay, both located on US1 at SW 104th St and and SW 152nd St.  The response time is about eight minutes to both neighborhoods. Way too long! Lives are genuinely at stake!  According to the new Miami-Dade County Fire Chief, Dave Downey, an eight minute response time is inadequate.  Downey... Continue Reading >
