Comfort Food at Blue Collar

Artichoke Blue Collar serves food that people like to eat and they do it really well.  Chef and owner Daniel Serfer hits it out of the park in this small, diner style restaurant in the historic Mimo district of Miami. Don't be off put by the no tell motels on the boulevard. The staff accommodated our group of eight in a pre-theater rush by cranking out dishes efficiently with super friendly personal service. We didn't have time for appetizers or desserts but here's a rundown of four entrees that... Continue Reading >

What struck me the most about this couple was their dedication to sustainable living through architecture, energy efficiency and a healthy lifestyle. We have all been raised on the precepts of... Mary Poore Monroe never threw anything away. Whenever the sheets and pillowcases tore, she finely stitched them back to life, turning them into smaller versions of themselves. When The Barnacle became a state park in 1973, Mary moved out and took the sheets with her. Years later, sons Bill and... Continue Reading >
