Just south of The Village of Pinecrest and west of Biscayne Bay is the Village of Palmetto Bay, a family-oriented community of 24,000 residents, with excellent public and private schools, an extensive park system and a readily available commercial corridor.

The median household income is $166,270 and the average value of housing in 2022 is $1,096,133.

Public schools include Coral Reef Elementary, Howard Drive Elementary, Southwood Middle, Miami-Palmetto Senior High and Coral Reef Senior High, a magnate school.  Private schools are Alexander Montessori, Palmer Trinity, Palmetto Bay Christian Academy, Westminster Christian School and Winhold Montessori.

In addition to Palmetto Bay Park and Thalatta Park is the spectacular Coral Reef Park, a 50 acre natural pineland preserve with tennis courts, beach volleyball courts, basketball courts, baseball fields, a covered playground, picnic areas, a jogging/bike path and bandshells for party rental.

One of the jewels in the crown of Palmetto Bay is the Deering Estate at Cutler, a 444-acre environmental, archeological architectural and historical preserve. From canoe tours to butterfly walks and guided nature hikes, the Deering Estate has diverse cultural and educational activities for the whole family to enjoy.  Just west of Palmetto Bay is Zoo Miami, a 740 acre zoological park and garden that is home to 2000 animals representing 500 species.  Southwest of Palmetto Bay is Everglades National Park. Know as the “river of grass” the Everglades is one of the most unique ecosystems in the world with an amazing array of birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, animals and plants.
