Shaddai Fine Lebanese Cuisine serves up a symphony of dishes that combines the sophistication of Mediterranean cuisines with the exotic herbs and spices of the Middle and Far East.
The menu is classic Middle Eastern with a focus on freshness of ingredients.
Chef Tony, the owner and sole chef in the kitchen, turns out delicious kebobs, fatoush and shawarma as the orders roar in. Tony, a self-proclaimed hard worker and super proud chef, insures that every dish, made to order, is nothing short of perfection.
Our server, Paoloa, loves working for Tony. It’s a happy place with family style Mid East ambiance and incredibly fresh, robust food.
Eggplant Dip – served complementary with home-made crisp pita chips/ Even those who are not lovers of eggplant will dive into this dip with wild abandon. It’s a puree made with tomatoes, grilled eggplant, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice and spices and I would go back just for this alone.
Baba Ghanoush – Freshly grilled eggplant pureed with tahini, garlic, spices and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Served with pita bread./ Very rich, creamy and smoky – just the way it should be.
Fatoush Salad – lettuce, cucumber, green bell pepper, tomato, onion and parsley served with a special home-made sumac dressing and seasoned pita croutons/ Fresh and crisp greens with a wonderful dressing.
Shrimp Kabob – skewers of perfectly seasoned and grilled marinated jumbo shrimp/ These were so tasty they needed no sauce or dressing (although they offered). All of the kebobs are served with a small fatoush salad, aromatic Lebanese angel hair basmati rice and marinated grilled onions and bell peppers.
Shawarma – beef or chicken rolled in pita bread with lettuce, tomatoes, onion, pickles and tahini sauce.
After dinner, we received a rack of lamb tip from our wonderful server Paola. She said it’s seasoned incredibly well, super juicy and the best thing on the menu – a must next time we dine here.
If you arrive early, before the crowd, Tony will be out front to greet you and make sure your dining experience is perfect. I love this place and am so excited to have a fantastic new restaurant in the neighborhood.
