Fratellino – A Favorite Coral Gables Ristorante

Rick and Beto

Fratellino has undeniably great food, service and atmosphere.  But it’s the charming co-owner of Fratellino, Beto DiCarlo, who makes the dining experience so special.  Everyone is his best friend as he meets and greets with a glass of Prosecco, kisses and smiles.  My husband and I love this place!

We’ve been dining here since they opened and, like most patrons, have our favorites.  But tonight, arriving just before the deluge of hungry foodies, we went bold and tried two new primis that wowed us.

Involtini di Melanzane:  thin slices of eggplant filled with fresh mozzarella, ricotta and roasted peppers baked with fresh tomatoes

Polpo di Carpaccio:  thinly sliced octopus, hearts of palm, avocado, capers, tomatoes and black olives with a lemony dressing (This was a special.)

Staying true to form we had two of our standard pasta favs:

Pappardelle al Porcini served with truffle oil and parmigiano and Fettuccini alla Gambero served with fresh spinach.

We love sharing this restaurant with friends and family because it’s consistently wonderful, reasonably priced and Beto always makes us feel straordinario. You will too!

Tip:  Must have a reservation or you will not get in.  Book several days in advance for the weekend.
